Stephanie Mims

NWAAC Officer
Assistant District Manager
Naples, FL

This year I celebrated 33 years of service to the Social Security Administration.

began my career with the Social Security Administration as a Stay-In-School college student in May 1986 in the Decatur, Alabama FO.

After receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Management from Athens State University, I was hired as a Benefit Authorizer at the SEPSC this position gave me the knowledge I needed to know the mechanics of how the various programs were administered but because I have a love for dealing with people face-to-face I took that knowledge and lateralled back to the field office to perfect my skills as an interviewer and served as a Service Representative in the Cullman Alabama BO.

After serving as a Service Representative for 18 months, I applied to the next position in the field office, Claims Representative.   After mastering the Claims Representative position, I have served as a face-to-face instructor for T16 in addition to completing a 12 month detail teachingT16 as anIVT Instructor in Atlanta.

I served as a Management Support Specialist and Operations Supervisor for 10 years before being promoted to Assistant District Manager in the Naples Florida FO in February 2018.

I have received two Commissioner Citations and the Regional Commissioners Citations for my continued service to the public.

I have strived to train, encourage and mentor my unit and office to continuously give the public the best service with quality and compassion to insure that we meet the needs of our public that depends on quality service.
